The Purpose of HumberX.com The Power of X in Action
I created HumberX.com as a challenge, both to myself and to the idea of ownership in the digital world. This website is my way of testing my own determination, proving that I can build something from scratch, and sharing my thoughts along the way. In today’s world, creating a website is easier than ever with tools like WordPress and YouTube tutorials, so I thought, why not? Not only am I learning how to build a website, but I’m also using it as a space to share what I know.
But here’s the thing: personal websites are becoming rare. The new “personal websites” are social media accounts. If you want to share your photos, you post on Instagram. If you have a talent, you showcase it on TikTok. If you have thoughts to share, you start a YouTube channel. Writing? You go to Substack. These platforms are designed for convenience, anyone can create an account and start sharing instantly.
However, there’s a catch. What happens if your content disappears overnight? What if you say something that the platform’s owners don’t agree with, and they shut you down? That’s the conundrum. Social media is easy, but it’s not truly yours. It’s a rented space, controlled by someone else. With a personal website, at least you own your platform. You have the freedom to express yourself, within reason, of course. I’m not suggesting you say whatever you want without consequences; the truth itself is often subjective, shaped by perspective. But having a space that is truly your own is an advantage.
For me, HumberX.com is more than just a blog: it’s a digital CV, a portfolio, a resume beyond LinkedIn. Sure, LinkedIn is great for a professional profile, but a personal website allows for something more: depth, creativity, and an evolving collection of my work, thoughts, and projects. If someone really wants to learn about me, they can come here and see everything I’m building, everything I’ve built, and everything I will build. This is my space, my identity, and my proof of action.
Think of it as 10Xing life itself: multiplying growth, innovation, and mastery in every way possible. It’s about harnessing the power of X to represent exponential growth, transformation, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. X isn’t just a letter; it’s a symbol of limitless expansion, of pushing beyond what’s known and reaching the next level, again and again.
